My Annotated Reading List For 2026
Hello and welcome!
I’m aware that this is not one of my usual posts, but I wanted to take a moment to share a glimpse of my reading plans for 2026.
I would love to know what you plan to read. Do you have any recommendations? Please feel free to share them in the comments!
And with that, I wish everyone happy holidays! See you soon!
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
This has been on my reading list for over a year now. After reading “War and Peace” last winter and being completely absorbed by Tolstoy’s way of crafting characters and the social interactions that surround them, I am really excited to dive into this one and judge the book (not just) by its cover.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I know, I know. But it’s a cult classic, and Jane Austen’s way of arranging cultural critique in a humorous way will always be fascinating (and entertaining) to me.
On Writing by Stephen King
When you are searching for books about writing, the possibility is very high that you have seen this one. And because my curiosity has won.
Emma by Jane Austen
Another Austen, because I was intrigued by the character description of Emma and the topics that are said to be discussed in the book. “Emma” was also published two years after “Pride and Prejudice,” and I am interested if I can find some differences in her writing between the two works.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
This is actually a reread. I read it about a year ago, but there is something to the story that always makes me want to return. With the atmosphere, setting, and themes, imagining that the book is from a hundred years ago gives you another perspective on it. Also, I love spotting new meanings and details, which I then can connect by the second time reading it; it is always fun.
